Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Current mood: stressed
Current music:Simon and Garfunkel - Mrs. Robinson
Entry tags:meta, real life is a bitch, school

I'm still alive! - Or so I'd like to think.
Okay, it feels like I've been away from the computer for so long it's not even funny anymore. I have been sneaking in about every two days to read my emails and stuff, but that doesn't really count.
Real life in general and school in particular are being demanding bitches and there is no way it's going to get any better until the end of March! So see you lovely people in April. I'm just sneaking in right now and should actually be studying, but there's only so much studying one can do. Anyway, I won't be able to update regularly for the next couple of weeks, too much German, too much history. (Haven't figured out how to study for English yet, guess I could update my journal every once in a while and tell myself was helpful...) But I might be commenting from time to time and I'm definitely going to read and follow the message boards silently.

In other news -- I've been tagged! Whatever that means!

A. List seven habits/quirks/facts about yourself.

B. Tag seven people to do the same.

C. Do not tag the person who tagged you or say that you tag "whoever wants to do it".

I can't tag anyone, everyone's already been tagged and answered more interestingly than I probably will. Besides, I don't even know how tagging works. *hangs head in shame*

1) I'm the most useless person ever when it comes to technical stuff. I can't download or install anything on my computer without the helpful assistance of my father who is for some reason a wizard with these things and thinks I'm making fun of him, because it's beyond him to understand how someone can NOT get these right away. It takes me ages to get used to new software and I still don't know how to tag people. :D

2) Tidy rooms confuse me. This seems to be an inherited thing, everyone in my family is incapable of not being messy and everyone likes things a bit (or a bit more) chaotic as well.

3) I'm constantly having a to-do-list but I'm never motivated enough to actually do the things on it. Which is the worst thing you can do, because that way you're always aware of everything you still have to do and are constantly frustrated with yourself because you still don't do anything about it.

4) I hate to make phone calls when I know more people with the same last name live there, who also answer the phone just saying their last name. For some reason I find it vastly embarrassing not to know who I'm talking to. And I have two friends who are twins and have the exact same voice and answer the phone exactly the same way. I never call them.

5) I've been a vegetarian for years now and I am extremely tired of people being intolerant about it. Why is it even something that I need approval or permission for to decide NOT to eat dead animals? I never quite got that.

6) I hate it when people have a strong German accent when speaking English. Unfortunately I have one myself, which annoys me big time. On the other hand I can find people extremely sexy just due to their accents. Best example for that is probably Luke Pritchard, singer of The Kooks.

7) If you want to really infuriate me, all you have to do is interrupt someone who is talking. It doesn't even have to be me, it can be anyone. I think it's the most rude and disrespectful thing to do.

Hugs on bitchy RL and school. That sucks.

And loved your list! You did tagging very well. :)

Plus, I HATE when someone answers a phone they're not supposed to. As in, my DH handing his cell phone to someone else when I call, so I can ramble on about something family-related to someone who REALLY DOESN'T CARE. Because unless it's a woman, I can't tell the difference. Dude, not funny anymore.

Anyway, thought I'd use my only phone-related icon. I like to think he's calling Oliver for a little something on the down low. *waggles eyebrows*

Shall we rant about inappropriate phone answering?

When I have to answer someone else's phone I made it perfectly clear I'm not them when I do it! And I speak at a reasonable rate and don't say too much....*grrr* people who spill out all their words at 100mph so it sounds like a mumble and you have to say 'sorry, I missed that - is this...'

*sneaks in* Tihihihi, was able to escape from sucky real life again. So much snow that I get a whole day off tomorrow. But thanks for your sympathy.. ;)

And yeah, like I said, that phone thing happens to me as well all the time. For some reason I can make out my boyfriend's voice, which is a GOOD GODDAMN THING, because otherwise it could've led to awkward situations from time to time. But other people. Yeah IDK, can't tell differences between voices. Physically incapable of doing it.

But your phone related icon is highly approved of. Who else would he be calling if not Oliver, his sexy bit on the side? It's so obvious. Heck, he even writes a letter to Oliver OF ALL PEOPLE before leaving town. Not to Dulla. Not to Marian. Not to his flatmates. No, Oliver. *cheerfully ignores content of the letter*

(I freaking love your icon!)

Tagging is just picking people to do the damn meme. Which most people usually refuse to do anyway because apparently we're all mature. bwahahahahah.

6) Yup, me too!! And Austrian accents are worse *shudders* Accents in general = sexy as hell. German-accented English = ick ick ick.

Good luck with the studying! *crosses fingers and all other crossable body parts* You can do it!!

*copies Kate's icon just because*

Ha, thanks! Icon is shiny, isn't it?! *uses again just because*
What is this "mature" you are talking about? I do not comprehend.

I don't think I've ever heard someone speak English with an Austrian accent. But German is bad enough! And I literally start shuddering if people can't pronounce the TH properly. It's making me aggressive for absolutely no good reason.

Oh! And I need to say this! Studying is working a lot better than I would've suspected. Guess I just have to be nervous enough about something and it'll work out. Well, I hope so. ;)

Gotta give you fist bumps on #7!!! It doesn't infuriate me so much but I get a little indignant at it, I suddenly become the most polite person in existence! Especially when people are trying to actually discuss or analyse anything - when people just butt in and start talking *grrrr*

Oh accents - aren't they the most confusingly interesting things ever!? When they're light they're totally engrossing and drool worthy on multiple levels but let them get too strong....I even get a bit annoyed with people around me who have really broad local accents!

Sending you good vibes and my spare brain cells for your studying!

Thanks so much for good vibes and brain cells! I'm sure I can use those! And see, I just learned thanks to you that "engrossing" doesn't actually have anything to do with "gross". So blogging is already starting to pay off for my English. Thank God for the online dictionary, LOL. :D

*sneaks in quickly* Eeeep! It really is. I'm experiencing severe withdrawal symptoms. Education is getting on my nerves big time lately. But yeah. Gotta be reasonable, productive and ambitious. No fun at all, LOL.
